Welcome to my blog

Hello All who call in at my blog. It is a diary of the sort of things I have made in the past and things I am making now, mostly for Cat Protection and other charities, to sell to raise funds. My daughter gives me the 'raw' ingredients and I make the goodies.

Add to this a selection of knitted garments for friends and family and you can see that I fill many happy hours with my knitting, sewing and crocheting

Knitteds and cards

Gosh isn't it hot these days.
We have had little or no rain for ages and everywhere is looking very parched. It does mean I stay inside a lot more as I burn very easily so I have managed to do a bit of knitting and even a little bit of card designing as well. Lots of sport watching with cricket and tennis top of the list at the moment.

I have this very old pattern of a footballer so I did try to update it a little bit--I think it looks a bit like Wayne Rooney

Linda and Graham came to stay and she is still shoe mad so it gave me the idea to make some cards with shoes on them. The two without quotes on the front have them under a pull up flap and the cards just have a general best wishes verse inside so suitable for lots of events

Peter Rabbit is back in fashion as there is a new film with him in it. Years ago I used to knit all the Beatrix Potter characters and the patterns were free in a magazine. The very same patterns are now fetching as much as £40 on e-bay but mine were thrown away years ago. This is the nearest I could get to a PR pattern and I made the teapot version. We have a cafe called the Woolie Teapot in town and I thought I might ask them if they would like it for their window display.

Got up very early to watch Andy Murray play a match in the US. He did win but he was very emotional after it all finished. Such hard work for him after the hip operation.

Have a great day and a happy weekend

Love Chrissie xx

  1. Hello! You've made a fantastic post, Chrissie. Love both knitting, they are very cool and adorable. I'm sure the coffee shop put Peter Rabbit on display.
Your shoe collage is gorgeous and I adore it 👏💕
Wishing you and yours most enjoyable weekend 😘
P.S. The weather is at last cooling here. Hope that also there !

  2. Love all your clever makes again, but Peter Rabbit has to be top of my list today. It is extremely hot here, we had 46° this morning, and that is just ridiculous. Hugs, Valerie

  3. Your knitting is adorable Chrissie. I don't know which I like better. And cute shoe cards too. Glad you've had some fun creative time. hugs--Erika

  4. I really enjoyed this post, Chrissie, even though I have NO idea who Wayne Rooney or Andy Murray are. Sad, but true.

I love those shoe cards. They are fabulous. I agree you can't have too many shoes, but I stick with my Reebok tennis shoes for comfort.

I love the rabbit and think that would be good advertisement if the tea shop would take it for a window display. Just goes to show you should NEVER throw anything away (grin).

  5. This is a super post Chrissie. The selection of shoe cards look fabulous, although I've never worn heeled shoes in years.
The knitted footballer is cute, but I am in love with the Peter Rabbit Tea Cosy. I'm sure the cafe will love to display it in the window.
Good to read you are enjoying the sport, Andy was so emotional after his match, Its good to see him making a come back.
    Yvonne xx
