Welcome to my blog

Hello All who call in at my blog. It is a diary of the sort of things I have made in the past and things I am making now, mostly for Cat Protection and other charities, to sell to raise funds. My daughter gives me the 'raw' ingredients and I make the goodies.

Add to this a selection of knitted garments for friends and family and you can see that I fill many happy hours with my knitting, sewing and crocheting

A mixture of things

Hello Friends and visitors

I seem to have been going for long walks recently so not much time for crafty things at all. Watching the golf and the tennis has meant a bit more creativity this last couple of weeks but a lot of time has been taking up with designing things to make rather than making them.

A couple of pics of my naughty Grandcats

Oscar and Willow helping their mum do the office work.

Oscar waiting to change the channel when mum says he has to

I have written a pattern for a design to hold a chocolate orange for Christmas

Trying a few designs to hold a Tunnock's tea cake for Christmas-think I have the right one to use now. Vic keeps eating the teacakes as they will be out of date by Christmas.

Labels to fasten onto the snowmen to show what they are hiding

Managed to make a few very large cards with card blanks, cut outs and papers from Linda.

Today I am taking a box of new Stazon inks and lots of other goodies. They are a part of the things that Linda brought that had duplicates so will never use them. The place that I am taking them to is an art studio in Bridlington that has classes for special needs people among others so I thought it would be a worthy cause. The lady is so nice and I am sure people enjoy going to her classes. Lots of arty type place springing up these days. One place you can decorate a pot-may try that sometime though it always seems full of children.

Off for a walk into town though it is very gloomy and damp--hope we get some sun soon.

Have agreat day

Love Chrissie xx

  1. Oh Chrissie, what delightful makes!! I absolutely adore those little tea cake characters, they look like so much fun!! Giving that extra stash to that art place is a wonderful idea too, - I wish there was a place like that close by here too....

    Happy walking!

  2. Lots of gorgeous makes, I love the little snow-people and I am sure Vic is having fun eating up the cakes! I like the thought of giving not needed craft things to a good cause, too. Lucky you having it damp and gloomy, we are being baked again here! Hugs, Valerie

  3. I am not sure whether it is Oscar or Willow but whichever it is laying across the computer is such an interesting colored cat. They look striped. ANd you have been busy with so many fun things Chris. Good for you. ;) Hugs-Erika

    1. it is both cats on the computer keyboard Erika

      Love Chrissie xx

  4. Looks like Oscar and Willow get along well together. That photo of the two of them is simply adorable and cuddly.

I've never heard of Tunnock's tea cakes, but I like the idea of hiding them in the snow people. Clever idea! Vic is smart. No one wants out of date "Tunnock's tea cakes." I'm a poet and didn't know it (grin).

You have NO idea how lucky those people are to get the StazOn re inkers. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO expensive here and I can only buy one about every nine months. I use mine for everything from dyeing fabric to resist techniques. Good for you to donate them, though.

  5. The cats do look so contented and comfortable, although I think lying on my computer would have me gently moving them.
The tea cake covers are adorable, you have great ideas to make interesting items to sell for your charities.
The art studio will be thrilled to get the craft goodies to use, many of these voluntary places find it hard to fund non essential things.
Have a good week Chrissie and enjoy the Tennis.
    Yvonne xx
