Welcome to my blog

Hello All who call in at my blog. It is a diary of the sort of things I have made in the past and things I am making now, mostly for Cat Protection and other charities, to sell to raise funds. My daughter gives me the 'raw' ingredients and I make the goodies.

Add to this a selection of knitted garments for friends and family and you can see that I fill many happy hours with my knitting, sewing and crocheting

Comfort blankets

Hi All

Today we are going to start decorating the lounge so I am trying to get up to date with posts before Vic gets out the paint and ladders. Every room will be disrupted as we move stuff to make way for the ladders and everything else that goes with decorating. I just 'help' by encouraging the worker and making lots of tea or coffee as required.

This week I have been making little comfort blankets. not sure where they will end up but I thought maybe a children's hospital would like them. Everything has to be sewn on really well and especially ears and arms as small children usually carry things around by the ears or the arms.

The runt of the family-first attempt.

Opened out

Linda brought some really thick wool so I thought I would try one of the balls. You need to use 00 needles that are enormous and the huge ball of wool just made the one cushion cover. Not sure I will make any more of these as it was heavy and very hard work. Maybe I will use the rest of the balls of wool to make a rug.

Have a great weekend and thank you for calling in

Love Chrissie xx

  1. Oh my goodness Chrissie, these are just adorable.x💖 [Aussie aNNie's Blog]

  2. I love those blankets, so sweet, I want one in my size! Have fun being the decorator's mate, I have to do it all myself here, more's the pity! Hugs, Valerie

    1. Be careful what you ask for Valerie lol

      Love Chrissie

  3. Adorable. You must knit constantly to accomplish so many projects! Hugs-Erika

  4. I know people who sell these on Etsy, and I am in awe that you make them for charity. Your heart must be as big as the projects you create. Those little blanket animals are incredible. SO cute.

Have fun playing host to workers this week. I would love to join you, but I have projects of my own that no one can seem to help me with (grin).

  5. Wow, Chrissie these are so adorable. I am sure they are all going to find new homes and be loved. You make fantastic things for the charities you support and I'm sure these will be welcomed at a childrens hospital.
Your cushion looked FAB as well.
Good luck with the decorating, Vic will appreciated the tea's and coffee's.
